Fixture: 19/2/2012

Score: Diss 1-4 Taverham Lions

Report:

A sunny day but only 3 degrees, and the U9 Lions play their first game for 3 weeks.

The Lions travelled to Diss to play in the re-scheduled cup match and started well with Alfie in goal and Reece on the bench. After only 2 minutes on the clock, Arly scores to make it 0-1 to the Lions.

It was not long before Pierce scores to make it 0-2 with only 8 minutes on the clock. The game was a well fought match with a lot of midfield action, and then just before half time Arly made it 0-3.

Second Half and Head Coach Kevin had to leave (playing football for his team) which left Steve in charge who made a change to the keeper, bringing Ben into goal and moving Alfie out into midfield. The game continued to be played with both teams giving 100% on what was becoming a bit of a boggy pitch with the white ball become brown with the mud sticking on it.

A mistake on the right wing and the defence up the pitch sees Diss make their only attack of the game and places the ball past Ben who had no chance, so now 1-3.

Taverham kick off and should have scored 2 or 3 more before Reece scores to make the final score 1-4 to Taverham, and book their place in the semi finals of the cup against either Firside, Dereham or Catton.

Well done to all the team, who next week travel away to 4th in the league Attleborough
