Taverham Ladies make it 3 in a row!

Taverham Ladies followed up back to back wins against Hethersett and Bungay with a hard fought win against Cambridge Womens Reserves at Hinks Meadow. Determined to avenge a heavy away defeat earlier in the season Taverham battled from the start creating some early opportunities hitting one over the bar and hitting a sharp chance just wide. Taverham got players behind the ball when necessary and put some good tackles in when required, restricting the visitors to a few corners which were well defended.

The half finished with no score and the pattern continued at the start of the second half with Taverham working hard to move the ball forward. The goal came with good work from Kayleigh Holloway who cut in from the right hand side. The fiercely hit shot was parried by the goalkeeper with Sally Hammerton following up with a smart finish. A further Taverham attack saw the opposition goalie saving a close range shot for a corner.

Taverham defended well for the remainder of the game clearing a succession of opposition corners. Cambridge smashed their last opportunity wide of the post and Taverham finished deserved winners.
