Score: Attleborough Town 3-8 Taverham Ladies

Report:

Taverham Ladies travelled to Attleborough in the second round of the Norfolk Cup following a good win against Gorleston in the first round.

In very foggy conditions Taverham took the lead early on with some committed attacking play and a good finish from Rachel Howes, only for the opposition to equalise on the break. Taverham took the lead again with a good finish from Laura Sutton before Attleborough drew level again.

Taverham went into half time 3-2 up after Kayleigh Holloway scored from the penalty spot after an Attleborough defender had handled the ball on the goal line. With the foggy conditions worsening Taverham knew they had to score as many as possible in the second half to avoid any replay should the match be abandoned due to the increasing lack of visibility.

More goals followed from Kayleigh Holloway, Laura Sutton (2) and Rachel Howes (2) to seal the win as visibility reached nearly zero at the final whistle.

Taverham Ladies' convincing result sees them earn a quarter final tie at home to Heathersett on Sunday 15th January 2012 at Hinks Meadow, 1.30 pm ko.
